CHILDHOOD VACCINATION/IMMUNISATION SCHEDULE

The following immunisation schedule is for the UK, as approved by the Department of Health and the NHS. Each vaccination is given as a single injection into the muscle of the thigh or upper arm.

2 months old

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
  • Pneumococcal infection

Vaccine: DTaP/IPV/Hib + PCV (Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine)

3 months old

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
  • Meningitis C

Vaccine: DTaP/IPV/Hib + MenC

4 months old

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
  • Meningitis C
  • Pneumococcal infection

Vaccine: DTaP/IPV/Hib + MenC + PCV

~12 months old

  • Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib)
  • Meningitis C

Vaccine: Hib/MenC

~13 months old

  • Measles, mumps and rubella
  • Pneumococcal infection

Vaccine: MMR + PCV

3 years 4 months old

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio
  • Measles, mumps and rubella

Vaccine: DTaP/IPV + MMR

13-18 years old

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, polio

Vaccine: Td/IPV
